Study: White Oak Pastures Beef Reduces Atmospheric Carbon
We are pleased to announce the release of a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study, conducted by a third-party sustainability science firm, confirming that White Oak Pastures is storing more carbon in its soil than its pasture-raised cows emit during their lifetime.
Ecological Outcome Verification Program
This is based on plant health, diversity, density, soil mulching, and composting of the organic matter returned to the surface, which comes from livestock management practices. It is also based on the carbon sampling that we do at each transect monitoring site, which gives us the ultimate score of the Savory Institute Evaluation Matrix.
Sweet & Spicy Sriracha Beef Bites are EPIC
EPIC Provisions’ Sweet & Spicy Sriracha Beef Bites are the first product to carry the new consumer-facing Land to Market Ecological Outcome Verification (EOV) Seal. EPIC is eager to incorporate the EOV seal with more of their products. This will require more regenerative farms that are educated and supported by the Savory Institute.
Carbon Drawdown
Photosynthesis draws carbon from the atmosphere and stores it as carbohydrates in the soil.
Recharging Waterways
A 1% increase in the soil organic matter increases the ability for 1 acre to hold water by 20,000 gallons.
Rural Economics
By increasing their carrying capacity, a farmer can raise more animals and create more jobs.
Wildlife Habitat
Grasslands provide critical habitat for countless species of wildlife, not to mention the billions of microbes in the soil.
